Investment Systems Provider QA Capability Transformed
A leader in investment systems software, whose core software product is widely used for handling functions related to investment portfolios, mutual fund accounting, hedge funds and brokerage, was experiencing runaway costs and backlogs in QA testing. The QA procedures were not scaling to their present level of demand, and had the teams working around the clock and not being able to keep up with demand for the testing of product revisions. EI’s Quality Assurance practice documented and discovered the fragmented and inconsistent current QA processes.
Employing best practices, they helped the client standardize a process that would leverage test automation and better utilize their existing QA resources. Digging them out of the hole they were in, a plan to address the backlog was defined and temporary teams were initiated to get the QA organization caught up with demand. As a result of working with EI, the QA organization became more effective, and could now appropriately scale to the QA service demand by employing standardized best-practice methodologies and procedures for QA, and increasingly leveraging test automation tools to improve QA quality and diminish the need for manual QA processes.
